A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Civil Litigation Defense Attorney to join its team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling cases related to automobile accidents, premises liability, and labor law. Duties

• Defend clients in civil litigation matters, primarily involving automobile accidents, premises liability, and labor law cases.
• Manage case preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance to clients on complex legal matters.
• Maintain an active caseload, ensuring timely progression of cases.
• Collaborate with team members on case strategies and solutions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders throughout litigation.

Requirements

• 2 to 10 years of experience handling civil defense cases, with a focus on automobile, premises liability, and labor law.
• Strong academic background and excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently and work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Prior experience in defending clients in litigation is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
