Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm in Irvine, CA is seeking a Defense Associate Attorney with a focus on insurance bad faith and fraud defense. The successful candidate will have:

Duties:

• Handle defense of insurance bad faith and fraud matters.
• Work on Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claims.
• Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Take depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Prepare and argue motions in court.
• Assist with trial preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and trial documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Provide legal advice and guidance on insurance defense matters.

Requirements:

• Admission to the State Bar of California.
• 5+ years of experience in insurance bad faith and fraud defense.
• Experience working on SIU claims.
• Strong litigation skills, including conducting depositions, arguing motions, and trial preparation.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of insurance bad faith and fraud laws.
