Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Chicago, IL, is actively seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their litigation team. This role involves handling complex personal injury cases, including construction negligence, automobile/trucking accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, product liability, and general liability matters. The firm represents clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries, and the ideal candidate will have a passion for advocating for victim’s rights and a proven track record in trial litigation.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate a diverse caseload involving personal injury, workers' compensation, and common law third-party cases.
  • Represent clients in court, including preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Conduct legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients and keep them informed about the progress of their cases.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage client relationships with a focus on results and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal developments and best practices in relevant areas of law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
  • 3-8 years of litigation experience, with a focus on personal injury, workers’ compensation, and/or common law third-party claims.
  • Strong trial experience and courtroom presence.
  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
