A law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team in San Antonio, TX. Here's a detailed job description:

 

Job Overview:

The Senior Immigration Attorney will report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and will be responsible for managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with the Immigration Team. They will provide legal counsel, represent individuals in removal proceedings, prepare immigration applications, and develop strategic solutions.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage workload of cases and conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategy.
  • Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine possible case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of Immigration Law Experience.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred.
  • Preferably bilingual (Spanish).
  • Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.
  • Record of moving legal cases forward and ability to manage a caseload.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
