A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Portsmouth, NH. This is a full-time position for an attorney with 5 to 10 years of experience in litigation, particularly within a general law practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, writing, and communication skills and have the ability to manage complex cases from start to finish while working closely with partners and clients.

Duties:

  • Case Management: Oversee all aspects of litigation cases under the guidance of a partner, ensuring deadlines are met and that the partner is kept informed of case developments.
  • Client Interactions: Conduct interviews with prospective clients to evaluate case merits, provide initial consultations, and determine if legal services should be offered.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Perform legal research and prepare memos to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Time Management and Multitasking: Organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys and firm staff to ensure all aspects of the case are handled efficiently and professionally.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of litigation experience, preferably within a general law practice.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Professional, flexible, and detail-oriented, with a focus on producing high-quality work.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of New Hampshire (or eligible to become licensed in New Hampshire).
