A law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team in Orange, CA.

 

Job Overview:

The Senior Immigration Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload, providing legal representation in removal proceedings, preparing immigration applications, collaborating with the Immigration Team, and offering strategic solutions to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage workload of cases effectively
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and determine necessary legal strategies
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases
  • Preferably bilingual (Spanish)
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Record of effectively moving legal cases forward and managing a caseload
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

 

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of Immigration Law Experience
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar
  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar
  • Any relevant certifications in immigration law (preferred)

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in immigration law and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Case Management Software
