Plaintiff Appellate Attorney

Job Overview:
A growing personal injury and property damage law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Plaintiff Appellate Attorney to join its Boca Raton, Florida office. This role involves handling appeals from trial courts to appellate courts, providing strategic legal guidance, and offering trial support to attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong appellate advocacy skills, experience in legal writing, and a deep commitment to representing plaintiffs’ interests in complex legal matters.

Location:

• Boca Raton, FL

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of appellate cases, including writing briefs, motions, and presenting oral arguments.
• Provide legal support to trial attorneys during ongoing trials.
• Review and contribute to substantive legal motions, such as summary judgments and post-judgment matters.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop litigation and appellate strategies.
• Draft persuasive and well-reasoned legal briefs and memoranda.
• Present oral arguments before state and federal appellate courts.
• Stay updated on developments and changes in appellate law.
• Mentor junior attorneys and provide guidance to legal staff.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in appellate litigation, preferably on the plaintiff’s side.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience managing multiple cases and deadlines.
• Excellent oral advocacy skills and experience arguing before appellate courts.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.
• Commitment to ethical legal practice and client advocacy.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.

Skills:

• Expertise in appellate advocacy.
• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload of 10-20 active appeals.
• Experience providing strategic legal support in complex litigation matters.
