Special Education Attorney

Job Overview:

This position involves defending public schools in special education and disability rights litigation, as well as providing legal advice, consultation, and training on related matters. Location:

Duties:

• Represent public schools in special education and disability rights litigation.

• Provide legal advice and consultation to school districts regarding compliance with federal and state special education laws.

• Conduct training sessions for public school staff on special education and disability rights issues.

• Advocate for clients in administrative hearings and other legal proceedings.

• Assist with policy development and interpretation related to special education laws.

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of legal experience.

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Public speaking experience is a plus.

• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

• Experience representing governmental entities in administrative litigation is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
