Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their estate planning needs.
  • Identify appropriate strategies to meet clients' objectives and provide recommendations.
  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, various types of trusts, and ancillary documents.
  • Explain complex legal concepts and estate plan provisions to clients clearly and effectively.
  • Self-manage to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Regularly consult with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and other parties to advance cases effectively.
  • Maintain consistent and timely communication to cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
  • Report on caseloads during weekly case review meetings.
  • Develop a client following to enhance the firm's revenues.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of estate planning experience, handling matters from inception to conclusion.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills tailored to various situations and client needs.
  • Working knowledge of finance, investments, and taxes.
  • Ability to focus under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
  • High degree of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity in handling client information, adhering to the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Wealth Counsel drafting software.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a client following.
