A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Associate Attorney with a focus on commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in this field or a demonstrated desire to specialize in it. Bankruptcy litigation experience would also be beneficial.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee teams and lead various projects, including litigation document management and filings.
  • Draft complex motions and related processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of ancillary filings and other trial-related tasks.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis, providing strategic advice to clients.
  • Manage client relationships and interact with opposing counsel.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing).
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions preferred.
  • Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated experience or interest in bankruptcy litigation.
  • Excellent drafting skills and ability to prepare complex legal documents.
  • Effective communication and supervisory skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Leadership capabilities to oversee and mentor junior associates.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced legal environment.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
