Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigator to join its team in Tampa, FL, with a flexible hybrid work model. This role is ideal for an individual with a solid background in handling complex business and commercial litigation, residential and commercial foreclosure, bankruptcy, and commercial collections. Experience with appellate work is a plus. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical abilities, excellent advocacy skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients involved in various civil litigation matters.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other essential legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes as needed.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, ensuring they are informed of case progress and legal options.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff to ensure the delivery of comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on business and commercial matters.
  • Proven ability to manage and litigate complex cases from start to finish.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Strong research and case analysis abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and settlement skills.
