Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience and possess strong oral and written communication skills. This position requires proficiency in all phases of litigation, including drafting legal documents, taking depositions, conducting research, and appearing in court. Experience in employment and labor law, contract disputes, and other general civil and commercial litigation matters is highly preferred.

Location:

Duties:

• Draft and file litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery demands.

• Take depositions and conduct legal research.

• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials.

• Advise and collaborate with clients on litigation strategy.

• Manage cases from inception to resolution, ensuring deadlines are met.

• Handle a variety of civil and commercial litigation matters, including employment law, real property disputes, contract disputes, and other general litigation.

• Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, adversaries, and witnesses.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience.

• Licensed to practice law in New York.

• Proven experience in drafting litigation documents, taking depositions, and appearing in court.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable working with business professionals and colleagues at all levels.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
