Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team in Miami, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced immigration attorney with 5-8 years of experience to take on a leadership role and further develop their career within a growing firm. The successful candidate will manage their caseload, represent clients in complex immigration proceedings, and collaborate with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Manage caseload, ensuring effective progression of cases
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at immigration detention centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine the best approach for each case
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to clients and advise on potential case benefits
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related cases

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Proven ability to manage complex immigration cases and lead a caseload
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • A track record of advancing legal cases and managing a high-volume caseload
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and meet deadlines
  • Expertise in immigration law, especially EOIR and USCIS matters
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
