A well-established national law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join its litigation practice in Schererville, IN. This role offers hybrid work arrangements or the option to work primarily remotely within Indiana or Illinois. The ideal candidate will have experience in general liability defense and/or professional liability defense. The position offers significant responsibility and opportunities for career growth within a dynamic practice.

Duties:

  • Handle general liability defense cases, including product liability, construction defect, premises liability, and vehicle liability matters.
  • Manage professional liability defense matters, such as medical malpractice defense, legal malpractice defense, and errors and omissions defense.
  • Draft complex legal opinions, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies for a wide variety of litigation matters.
  • Participate in court appearances, hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams to provide effective representation for clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in general liability defense and/or professional liability defense.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting complex motions and legal opinions.
  • Ability to manage cases independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Indiana State Bar is required.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar is preferred for candidates working remotely from Illinois.
