Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to handle breach of contract and collection litigation matters. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload from demand through judgment, attend court hearings, and prepare and argue motions for summary judgment. This role demands exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage time-sensitive matters efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle breach of contract and collection litigation matters from initial demand through judgment.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in person.
  • Prepare and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Manage assigned caseload effectively to meet goals and client expectations.
  • Address escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California; multi-jurisdictional admission in AZ, CA, NV, and TX preferred.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and use of both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Skilled in software tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working at a fast pace.
  • Conscientious concerning work completion, deadlines, and attendance.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems promptly.
  • Adaptable with a strong work ethic and willingness to embrace change.
