A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in commercial real estate law and additional expertise in corporate or intellectual property law is highly desired. This role involves handling complex real estate transactions, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and financing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice on real estate matters, including property development, zoning, and land use.
  • Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions, including title and survey reviews.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and transactions with developers, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local real estate laws and regulations.
  • Address and resolve issues related to property disputes, land use, and environmental concerns.
  • Collaborate with corporate or intellectual property attorneys on matters involving real estate components.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and changes in real estate law and market conditions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law.
  • Additional experience in corporate or intellectual property law is desired.
  • Proven ability to manage complex real estate transactions and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar in North Carolina and good standing.

Skills

  • Expertise in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.
  • Knowledge of corporate and intellectual property law is a plus.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate contracts and agreements.
