A law firm seeks a skilled Data Privacy & Compliance Associate Attorney to join its team. Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other relevant laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and data security provisions in a wide range of contracts and agreements.
  • Advise clients on compliance strategies, risk mitigation, and best practices for data privacy.
  • Manage multiple client matters simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of legal services in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in privacy law and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, and compliance departments, to address privacy concerns.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports and legal documents, effectively communicating complex issues to clients.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in privacy and data protection law, with a focus on transactional work.
  • Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating privacy-related clauses in agreements.
  • Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, understandable terms for clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong academic record and proven success in handling complex legal issues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state where the candidate resides.

Skills:

  • Expertise in GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other data privacy regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills, particularly in privacy agreements.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
