Associate Attorney needed for Birmingham office

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a motivated and self-starting litigation associate for its civil defense practice in Birmingham, Alabama. The successful candidate will handle civil defense matters across Alabama, working in a collaborative environment. Location:

Duties:

• Handle civil defense cases throughout Alabama
• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Manage case files and ensure timely progress on all litigation matters
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as required
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to provide high-quality legal representation
• Travel as needed for cases across the state

Requirements:

• 2+ years of litigation experience, ideally in civil defense matters
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to travel throughout Alabama as required
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work
• Self-motivated and confident in handling client matters

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Alabama State Bar
