A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice in Anchorage, AK. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters, including civil, criminal, family, and personal injury law. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to client service, a willingness to handle cases from start to finish, and an eagerness to develop expertise in various areas of law.

Duties:

  • Case Management: Manage cases from initiation through trial, including consultations, case screening, discovery, depositions, and litigation.
  • Litigation: Represent clients in various legal matters, including civil, criminal, family, and personal injury cases, with the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of interest.
  • Client Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service and communication throughout the legal process.
  • Mediation and Negotiation: Participate in mediation sessions and negotiate settlements to resolve cases efficiently and favorably for clients.
  • Trial Preparation: Prepare cases for trial, including gathering evidence, drafting legal documents, and presenting arguments in court.

Requirements:

  • Active Alaska Bar License (required).
  • Recent litigation experience preferred, but not mandatory—training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent client service and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Ability to handle a diverse caseload and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Alaska.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills with experience in or willingness to handle diverse legal areas (civil, criminal, family, personal injury).
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and drafting.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and courtroom presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships, with a focus on customer service.
