Lateral Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Manage a wide variety of litigation matters across multiple practice areas, including but not limited to commercial litigation, appeals, antitrust, and energy law.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on complex matters and strategic case development.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and legal soundness.
  • Represent clients in court, including hearings and trials, as well as on appeal.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to formulate case strategies.
  • Provide legal research and analysis to support ongoing litigation and business development efforts.
  • Assist in business development activities to expand the firm's footprint in Houston.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on commercial disputes, antitrust, or related practice areas.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear, compelling legal documents.
  • Prior clerkship experience with a district or appellate court is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to help build and grow a new office and practice group.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal research, drafting, and litigation procedures.
  • Knowledge of commercial, antitrust, constitutional, and energy law.
  • Proficiency with legal software and case management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
