Job Overview: A law firm specializing in healthcare law seeks a Senior Healthcare Attorney to provide expert legal counsel on various healthcare matters, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while overseeing complex healthcare transactions and disputes.

Job Duties:

  • Provide counsel on fraud and abuse laws, ensuring healthcare practices comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Act as lead attorney on healthcare mergers and acquisitions, overseeing the drafting and negotiation of transaction documents.
  • Manage reimbursement matters, including billing audits and reimbursement dispute resolution.
  • Review and negotiate managed care contracts to optimize client interests.
  • Address medical staff issues, offering legal guidance and support as necessary.
  • Navigate state and federal regulatory issues for healthcare providers, including matters involving professional licensing boards and compliance investigations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5-10 years of experience practicing healthcare law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, Stark Law, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to achieve favorable client outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, colleagues, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities with a calm demeanor.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey with a plenary license.
  • Compliance with the IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts) Rule.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience handling complex healthcare litigation matters.
  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or related field.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology and digital health regulatory issues.
