Job Overview: An esteemed law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level associate with a strong background in employment counseling to join its Employment Group. This role will involve providing cross-border and global employment support, advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions, and counseling emerging companies on employment law matters. Candidates with international counseling experience are strongly preferred. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with offices across the firm's global employment practice.

Location:

  • Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Conduct employment diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.

  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.

  • Provide counsel on reductions in force, employee terminations, and related matters.

  • Draft restrictive covenants and advise on employee mobility issues.

  • Offer employment law guidance to emerging companies.

  • Collaborate effectively with global offices and cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of employment counseling experience (domestic and/or international).

  • Experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of global employment law practices.

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

  • Flexibility and willingness to learn.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of application.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Good business judgment.

  • Strong organizational and management abilities.
