Duties

  • Counsel clients on equity compensation and employment matters, including stock options, restricted stock units, and employee stock purchase plans.
  • Manage compliance for multinational companies, addressing issues such as leaves of absence, accommodations, and independent contractor classification.
  • Draft and prepare employment-related documents and agreements, including employment contracts and performance management materials.
  • Conduct multijurisdictional research and project management with global teams.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of legal analyses and research to clients, both in writing and during client meetings.
  • Contribute to employment agreements, employee handbooks, and diligence projects related to equity compensation and employment aspects of global M&A transactions.
  • Focus on clients primarily in the fast-growth and technology sectors.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in employee equity compensation or employment counseling, with a strong preference for cross-border experience.
  • Must be admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Excellent academic credentials, alongside exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
