Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will manage multiple case files, conduct legal research, draft documents, and handle a substantial caseload of insurance coverage files. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of state and federal court procedures are essential.

Duties:

• Manage multiple case files efficiently in a busy environment
• Draft, prepare, and handle coverage opinion letters and coverage position letters for first- and third-party insurance files
• Draft and respond to complex, dispositive motions
• Conduct legal research competently and proficiently
• Prepare and take depositions and interviews of parties and experts
• Review client documents, draft evaluations, and status report correspondence
• Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• 2+ years of experience in the defense of insurance coverage and/or the insurance industry
• Licensed to practice in Illinois courts
• Additional admission in Indiana is strongly preferred

• Ability to manage multiple case files efficiently
• Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Experience:

2+ years of experience in the defense of insurance coverage and/or the insurance industry
