Duties:

  • Strategize and manage complex personal injury cases, ensuring a tailored approach for each client.
  • Engage empathetically with clients to understand and represent their personal experiences and perspectives.
  • Work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, fostering cooperation in all case-related tasks.
  • Handle mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, trials, and related client interactions.
  • Present arguments persuasively in court, connecting effectively with the jury.
  • Research laws, rulings, and regulations to provide accurate guidance to clients.
  • Analyze legal and medical data to assess insurance coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Develop settlement brochures, prepare for presentations, and ensure compliance with legal procedures for disbursements and settlement funds.
  • Utilize available technology to enhance efficiency and productivity in case management.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships within the community to enhance firm recognition and client service.

Requirements:

  • Active NC State Bar membership (additional State Bar memberships are an advantage).
  • Minimum of 10+ years of civil litigation experience with a proven record of successful cases tried to verdict.
  • Extensive experience as Lead Attorney in litigating complex personal injury cases, ideally involving trucking or catastrophic injury.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • State Bar membership in North Carolina (additional memberships are beneficial).

Skills:

  • Strong independent judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate team members effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in analyzing data, drawing logical conclusions, and maintaining positive client and team relationships.
