A law firm seeks a highly experienced and professional Senior Real Estate Attorney to join their team in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex real estate transactions, including commercial and residential acquisitions, leasing, banking, lending, and land use/zoning matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively. Duties:

  • Manage and oversee complex real estate transactions, including commercial and residential acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Handle commercial leasing agreements and banking/commercial lending matters.
  • Advise clients on land use and zoning regulations, providing strategic legal counsel.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, lease agreements, and transaction-related documents.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals to resolve issues and ensure smooth transaction processes.
  • Maintain detailed, organized case files and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Work independently while contributing to a collegial and supportive team environment.
  • If applicable for Partner-level candidates, manage and grow a client portfolio.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in real estate law, including complex commercial and residential transactions, leasing, lending, and land use/zoning.
  • NJ Bar license is required; additional state bar memberships are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Portable business is a plus but not required, except for Partner-level candidates where portable business is expected.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (NJ Bar).

Skills:

  • Extensive experience with real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.
  • Proficiency in land use and zoning laws and regulations.
  • Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
