A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Defense Trial Attorney to join its team in Bernardsville, NJ. Duties

  • Manage all aspects of insurance defense cases, including auto, general liability, construction, products liability, and property damage, from inception through trial.
  • Conduct discovery, prepare for court appearances, and handle depositions and examinations under oath.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and witnesses to effectively prepare for trial testimony.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, and required client reports.
  • Provide opinions on liability, damages, and the overall value of cases.
  • Represent clients before courts, arbitrators, and mediators.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the New Jersey Bar.
  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, with at least 5 completed civil trials.
  • Previous experience in insurance defense, general liability, and construction litigation is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal software and the ability to maintain accurate billing records.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize assignments and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the New Jersey Bar is required.
