A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join their Real Estate and Landlord-Tenant practice in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in handling complex litigation matters related to both residential and commercial landlord-tenant issues within New York City Civil Court and the New York State Supreme Court.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate complex real estate disputes involving residential and commercial landlord-tenant issues.
  • Draft legal pleadings and substantive motions effectively.
  • Conduct and participate in settlement conferences to resolve disputes amicably.
  • Argue various motions in court and advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct depositions and engage in pre-trial conferences to prepare for court proceedings.
  • Represent clients during trials, demonstrating strong courtroom presence.
  • Make frequent court appearances and maintain organized case files.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate litigation, specifically in landlord-tenant matters.
  • Strong knowledge of the New York City Civil Court and New York State Supreme Court procedures.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Exceptional drafting and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable making frequent court appearances and advocating for clients.
