A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a highly qualified Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will possess a strong academic background, substantial experience in real estate finance law within a large law firm, and exceptional writing and communication skills. Experience with large structured commercial real estate transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity, is preferred, as well as asset management and workout expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage real estate finance transactions from initiation through closing and post-closing.
  • Handle loan origination for complex commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Address asset management and workout scenarios as needed.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to real estate finance transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of transactions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide strategic legal advice on real estate finance matters.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies throughout the transaction process.
  • Support secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • At least 3 years of broad real estate finance experience, preferably gained in a large law firm environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Experience in asset management and workout situations is preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle transactions on behalf of lenders, including secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Missouri.
