A law firm seeks a mid-level Land Use and Environmental Litigation Associate with 2-6 years of experience to join its Seattle team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, handling complex cases involving environmental, land use, and natural resources litigation. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience with a focus on environmental compliance, administrative actions, water rights, permitting, and regulatory issues, and be passionate about providing high-level client service.

Duties

  • Represent clients in land use, environmental, and natural resource litigation in both state and federal court
  • Manage discovery processes and appear in court on behalf of clients
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs
  • Advise clients on regulatory matters, compliance, and enforcement actions
  • Collaborate with attorneys across various offices, providing comprehensive client support
  • Engage in pro bono and public service work as encouraged by the firm’s mission
  • Participate in firm-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in substantive land use and environmental litigation
  • Court Experience: Proven experience managing discovery and making court appearances
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, with a strong client-service approach

Education

  • Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Bar Admission: Active license to practice law
