Associate Attorney Family Law, Civil Litigation & Probate

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated and passionate attorney to join their team in Davenport, IA. Duties:

• Represent clients in family law, civil litigation, and probate matters.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and petitions.
• Provide legal advice to clients and develop case strategies.
• Manage and maintain client files, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case briefs and memoranda.
• Appear in court on behalf of clients for hearings, motions, and settlement conferences.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver cohesive legal services.
• Maintain open communication with clients to keep them informed throughout the case.
• Work towards achieving favorable outcomes for clients in a variety of legal matters.

Requirements:

• Newly licensed attorney or attorney with up to 2 years of experience.
• Active Illinois or Iowa law license required (dual licensure is a plus).
• Ability to become licensed in the other state within 6 months (if not already licensed).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and with a collaborative team.
• Strong interest in family law, probate, and civil litigation.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Illinois or Iowa state bar membership (required).
• Dual licensure (preferred).
