Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Banking and Finance Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. The role requires 4–8 years of expertise in commercial finance, real estate transactions, and corporate transactional matters. The successful candidate will work closely with supervising attorneys to represent financial institutions, borrowers, and other clients in various financial and real estate transactions. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex legal matters in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Duties

  • Represent banks, financial institutions, and borrowers in:
    • Commercial loan transactions
    • Real estate financing deals
    • Equipment leasing arrangements
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key legal documents, including loan agreements, lease contracts, and related transaction documents.
  • Conduct due diligence processes, including:
    • Reviewing UCC lien searches, corporate documentation, certificates of good standing, and litigation records.
    • Examining real estate title documents, surveys, and associated materials.
  • Assist in the closing of loans and leasing transactions, ensuring compliance and precision.
  • Perform in-depth legal research to provide accurate advice and solutions to clients.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of professional experience in commercial finance, real estate, and/or corporate transactional law.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering clear, concise legal advice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized and accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in the state of Michigan.
