Duties:

  • Case Management:

    • Manage a diverse caseload of criminal defense cases, including DWI offenses, assault, possession, and sex crimes.
  • Client Representation:

    • Provide strong legal representation for clients in all stages of criminal cases, from pre-trial motions to final disposition.
  • Court Appearances:

    • Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings on behalf of clients.
  • Negotiation & Settlement:

    • Negotiate favorable settlements or plea deals for clients, aiming for the best possible outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship:

    • Work closely with senior attorneys, receiving training and mentoring to enhance legal skills and case strategy.
  • Legal Research & Strategy:

    • Conduct legal research and case preparation, developing strong defense strategies tailored to each client's unique situation.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in criminal defense or prosecution, particularly in handling DWI, assault, possession, and sex crime cases.
  • License:

    • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively negotiate and advocate for clients.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and receive constructive feedback.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the State Bar of Texas.
