Patent Agent

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in intellectual property seeks a motivated Patent Agent to assist clients in securing patent protection for innovative technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams and clients to draft and prosecute patent applications while providing comprehensive services.

Duties:

• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications for clients by USPTO and global patent office requirements.
• Conduct due diligence, landscape analysis, freedom-to-operate analysis, and validity assessments.
• Prepare responses to patent application rejections from USPTO and International Patent Offices.
• Support patent litigation efforts through research and analysis.
• Establish and maintain internal procedures for patent information management and filing deadlines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Registration as a Patent Agent with the USPTO.
• Strong preference for industry experience in Software Development/Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Semiconductor Manufacturing & Packaging.

Job Location: Kansas City, MO
