A law firm is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Project Finance Counsel or Associate Attorney for their San Francisco, CA office. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, assume high levels of responsibility, and be part of a collaborative team focused on clean energy and climate solutions sectors.

Job Overview:

  • Work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, providing active mentoring.
  • Be part of a collaborative team focused on clean energy and climate solutions sectors.
  • Assume high levels of responsibility and client contact with companies ranging from start-ups to leading international infrastructure investors.
  • Gain a wide range of project and structured finance experience, working with industry-leading companies.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on project finance and structured asset-based finance transactions.
  • Represent sponsors, borrowers, lenders, or investors in the renewable energy industry.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements related to asset-backed securitization or asset-backed lending.
  • Provide expertise in tax equity in solar, wind, and energy storage project assets.
  • Develop a broad expertise in financing renewable energy projects and portfolios.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of substantial transactional experience at a major law firm.
  • Focus on project finance and/or structured asset-based finance and non-recourse lending transactions.
  • Experience in renewable energy industry representation preferred.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar (or willingness to become admitted).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project finance and structured asset-based finance.
  • Familiarity with the renewable energy industry.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
