Job Overview: A distinguished law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with expertise in Government Contracts and International Trade to join its Corporate Services practice group. The position involves handling complex legal matters related to government contracts, compliance, and international trade. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to high ethical standards. The candidate will be expected to work independently on strategic aspects of cases and contribute to business development.

Location:

  • Saint Louis, MO 

Duties:

  • Manage multiple legal matters in various stages, from inception to resolution, with a focus on government contracts and international trade.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and provide strategic advice on bid protests, contract claims, compliance, and disputes.
  • Advise on matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), export controls (ITAR and EAR), sanctions compliance, and national security restrictions.
  • Produce high-quality legal work and meet billing requirements to maintain excellent client service.
  • Collaborate with and oversee support staff and junior associates to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in business development and foster client relationships.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in government contracts and international trade, including bid protests, contract claims, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption regulations, including the FCPA, as well as export controls and national security restrictions.
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in good standing in at least one jurisdiction where the firm operates.
  • Must maintain active license status and fulfill continuing legal education (CLE) requirements.
