A law firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in prosecuting and/or defending construction claims, drafting and negotiating contracts, and providing counsel on construction-related risks. Candidates with experience in insurance, commercial law, products liability, or general litigation will also be considered, provided they have a strong interest in legal practice within the construction industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in construction litigation matters, including claims related to defects, delays, and contract disputes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and related legal documents.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic advice on construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Perform legal research on construction laws and regulations, preparing legal opinions and memoranda as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop effective legal strategies and solutions.
  • Assist senior attorneys in complex construction disputes and transactions, providing support on legal issues and case management.
  • Participate in mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Tennessee or eligibility for admission by motion.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction law, including litigation and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in insurance, commercial litigation, products liability, or related fields is a plus.
  • Superior academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
