Duties

  • Interface with clients and inventors throughout all stages of the patent process.
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications both domestically and internationally.
  • Conduct freedom-to-operate, patentability, and infringement analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on patent strategy and portfolio management.
  • Assist in additional responsibilities and projects as needed.
  • Support in the advancement of patent strategy, leveraging both technical and legal expertise.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of experience in patent prosecution, particularly in Electrical & Computer Technologies.
  • Advanced technical degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of machine learning, molecular biology, and sequencing technology.
  • Familiarity with gene editing, immunology, microscopy, and systems biology is a plus.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the USPTO (Required).
