This role will involve managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and providing legal analysis in immigration matters.

Duties:

• Advise clients on immigration matters and provide strategic legal solutions.
• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, including both detained and non-detained individuals.
• Manage and track multiple immigration cases efficiently.
• Conduct intakes with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review immigration documents and applications for accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
• Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay updated on immigration law changes.
• Meet with potential clients to provide strategic consultations and assess case strategies.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

• A strong interest in immigration law is demonstrated through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internships.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active CA Bar admission (candidates awaiting admission may also be considered).
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a legal team.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward efficiently.
• Experience with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active CA Bar admission (law graduates awaiting CA admission will be considered).

Skills:

• Immigration law expertise or strong interest in the field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Case management and legal research proficiency.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases and prioritize workload.
• Proficient in using case management software.
