Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team in Newport Beach, CA. This hybrid position focuses on Employment Law, including PAGA, and Workers' Compensation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, effective communication skills, and experience handling depositions, mediations, and court appearances.

Duties

• Provide legal counsel and support to clients on best practices in employment and workers' compensation matters.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive case file documents from opening through resolution.
• Collaborate with the legal team to develop trial briefs and case strategies.
• Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including contracts, motions, and memos.
• Handle discovery processes and strategize responses to discovery requests.
• Represent clients at hearings, court appearances, mediations, and related legal proceedings.
• Conduct depositions of experts and witnesses to build case strength.
• Research legal rulings, interpret laws, and assess legal risks for client advisement.
• Communicate with clients consistently, maintaining strong client relationships and keeping them updated on case progress.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in litigation, with a focus on employment law or workers' compensation.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with skills in persuasion and negotiation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to case management.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California State Bar membership.
