Mid-Level Media Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Media Associate Attorney to handle cutting-edge content liability and free speech cases, with a focus on digital and emerging media technologies. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in litigation, particularly in copyright, trademark, right of publicity, and defamation. Former law clerks are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong analytical and writing skills, along with excellent academic credentials, are required.

Duties:

• Represent clients in media-related litigation, including content liability and free speech cases.
• Focus on digital and emerging media technologies, including copyright, trademark, right of publicity, and defamation issues.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to media and intellectual property law.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage case files, including discovery, depositions, and witness preparation.
• Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
• Stay updated on legal trends and changes in media law, particularly in emerging technologies.
• Provide expert advice and legal counsel to clients on media-related legal issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of law firm experience in litigation.
• Preference for experience in copyright, trademark, right of publicity, and/or defamation.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical and writing skills.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the New York Bar.
• Former law clerks are strongly encouraged to apply.
