Duties

  • Advise clients on immigration policies and procedures, offering tailored legal solutions.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective case progression.
  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments for detained individuals in immigration detention facilities.
  • Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense petitions and family-based immigration requests.
  • Oversee and review case documentation, making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Engage with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and community organizations to address immigration law developments.
  • Conduct client consultations, develop legal strategies, and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Research legal issues, draft motions, and submit legal briefs for complex immigration cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, offering support and strategic input.
  • Strong track record of handling cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Familiarity with immigration processes, including Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, Citizenship applications, and detained client representation.
  • Proficiency in legal case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction, in good standing.

Certifications

  • Must be a licensed attorney with an active bar membership.

  • Strong litigation and advocacy skills in immigration court settings.
  • Analytical and legal research proficiency to develop effective case strategies.
  • Ability to manage high caseloads with attention to detail and accuracy.
