Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and litigate construction defect cases, including all aspects of case preparation and trial.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved.
• Attend court appearances and argue motions in state and federal courts.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations to resolve disputes.
• Draft and oppose motions, including summary judgment motions and other legal pleadings.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare comprehensive legal documents and briefs.
• Advise clients on legal strategies and case developments.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure case efficiency.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and legal assistants as needed.
• Maintain detailed case files and records.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in construction defect, general liability, and complex civil litigation.
• Significant experience in taking and defending depositions, attending court appearances, attending mediations, and drafting and opposing motions.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Bar in California.
