Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Labor and Employment practice in Phoenix. This role is ideal for a litigator with over four years of experience, particularly in employment-related matters or those with strong litigation backgrounds and a demonstrated interest in employment law. The position offers exposure to complex disputes, including restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and electronic discovery, with opportunities for courtroom advocacy and strategic counseling.

Location:

  • Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and initial pleadings

  • Prepare and argue motions in court

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Manage matters involving electronically stored information (ESI) discovery

  • Contribute to cases involving employment law issues, including restrictive covenants and trade secrets

  • Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy and execution

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ litigation experience, with preference for labor and employment background

  • Experience with ESI discovery strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interest in employment law matters

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Excellent academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Arizona Bar required

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills

  • Effective oral advocacy and interpersonal communication

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
