A law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking a dynamic Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the firm's established litigators, serving a diverse client base with ample opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on labor and employment law matters, including discrimination, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and employment contracts.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation materials.
  • Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including administrative hearings, arbitrations, and court trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client management.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handle client consultations, maintain communication, and manage client expectations effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Washington Bar.
  • 1-7 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Preference for experience in labor and employment law; general civil litigation experience is also valued.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to manage a high workload and meet deadlines.

Certifications & Skills:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation software.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
