Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Immigration Attorney for an EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) role. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience in immigration law to grow professionally within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in removal proceedings, managing caseloads, and working alongside a talented team of immigration law professionals.

Duties:

• Represent individuals in both detained and non-detained removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Provide strategic advice on immigration issues and develop tailored solutions for clients.
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct client intakes and visits with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense applications.
• Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments or revisions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations to address immigration law changes.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients, determining the appropriate immigration strategy.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS testimony.
• Draft and submit legal briefs related to immigration cases.
• Provide legal analysis and counsel to clients regarding case benefits and outcomes.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in immigration law.
• Experience with a wide range of immigration applications, including Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained individuals, and USCIS matters.
• Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload and move legal cases forward.
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.
• Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar admission in good standing.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain licensure in Texas).

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of immigration law and EOIR procedures.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic immigration solutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in drafting legal documents, including briefs, petitions, and motions.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal practice.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
