Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a Member-Level Healthcare Attorney to join their national team. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience and regulatory expertise in providing legal counsel to healthcare providers. They should demonstrate a proactive approach and can contribute to corporate compliance and HIPAA programs. Additionally, candidates should have a self-starter mentality and bring a portable business book.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to healthcare providers on various issues, including regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing, reimbursement, and transactional matters.
  • Draft and negotiate professional service agreements, joint venture agreements, business associate agreements, and other healthcare-related contracts.
  • Participate in healthcare M&A deal teams, assisting with due diligence, regulatory review, and drafting transaction documents.
  • Develop and implement corporate compliance programs and HIPAA compliance programs for healthcare providers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as an attorney in healthcare law.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing, reimbursement, and transactional matters within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Preferred: Certification in healthcare law or related field (e.g., Health Law Certification from the American Board of Legal Medicine).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
