Job Title: Litigation Special Counsel

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm, seeking experienced attorneys to join their growing litigation practice. The firm is looking to hire individuals with 2-5 years of legal experience in litigation, specifically in the construction and insurance sectors. The ideal candidates will be proactive, capable of handling high-volume cases, and comfortable working autonomously in arbitration settings. This role involves contributing to a variety of matters, requiring strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, with a focus on both construction-related disputes and related insurance claims.

Duties:

• Manage and support a diverse caseload of litigation matters, particularly in the construction industry.
• Handle discovery processes, draft motions, and argue motions in court.
• Lead and participate in depositions and hearings.
• Support arbitration processes, with an emphasis on construction and design defect claims.
• Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case progression.
• Manage client relationships and provide legal counsel on complex matters.
• Support mediation and settlement processes to resolve disputes effectively.
• Maintain high standards of legal research, writing, and documentation for each case.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of litigation experience, ideally in construction law, insurance claims, or related fields.
• Proven experience in drafting motions, conducting discovery, and managing case preparation.
• Experience arguing motions in court and handling depositions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and manage caseloads with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience in managing legal teams, including paralegals and support staff, is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.

Certifications:

• Must be an active member of the Florida Bar.

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience in handling arbitration and mediation.
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of construction law, design defects, and related litigation matters.
