Job Title: Attorney (Associate)

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Pittsford, NY, is seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to join their team. This position offers an opportunity to work on a diverse range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and more. The role provides an excellent platform for professional growth, with training available for litigators new to Family and Matrimonial Law.

Duties:

• Provide legal representation in family and matrimonial law cases, including divorce, custody, spousal support, child support, and property division.
• Advise clients on their legal rights, responsibilities, and possible strategies.
• Represent clients in court, hearings, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, agreements, and discovery requests.
• Manage a caseload of family law cases, conducting legal research and preparing required documents.
• Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining regular communication and offering strategic counsel.
• Meet billing and case management requirements as specified.
• Assist senior attorneys with complex cases and trial preparation.
• Lead client negotiations, striving for favorable and efficient outcomes.
• Stay current with family law trends and updates through continuous legal education.
• Ensure compliance with firm standards, including accurate billing, timekeeping, and reporting.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 2-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably within family or matrimonial law (training provided for those without direct experience in this area).
• Strong courtroom advocacy and written communication skills.
• Proven experience in delivering excellent client service.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar in the jurisdiction of practice.
