A law firm seeks an experienced Business Immigration Associate to join its team in New York. This full-time position is ideal for a candidate with at least four years of experience in EB-5 immigration law and other business immigration matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with high-profile clients and handle complex immigration cases, with a focus on the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and related processes.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee the firm’s EB-5 practice.
  • Review and supervise the work of paralegals and junior associates.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including memos.
  • Draft and prepare high-quality legal documents for clients in the EB-5 program.
  • Coordinate with clients, providing clear communication and updates on case progress.
  • Address responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and assist with consular processing and I-829 filings.
  • Assist in preparing and filing I-526E, I-956, and I-956F applications, as well as I-924 petitions.
  • Handle other business immigration matters, including L-1A, E-2, EB-1A, EB-1C, H-1B, and adjustment of status applications.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in business immigration law, with a specific focus on the EB-5 program.
  • Proven experience with I-526E, consular processing, I-829, I-956, and I-956F filings.
  • Familiarity with L-1A, E-2, EB-1A, EB-1C, H-1B, PERM, and adjustment of status applications is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients.
  • Experience managing client relationships and overseeing junior staff work.
  • Ability to handle complex legal research and draft comprehensive legal documents.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in New York.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and drafting abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills, both verbal and written.
